Natural Roofing Slate

Natural slate roofs are known for their extremely long lifespan and durability, with the requirement of little to low maintenance. Natural slate roof tiles are arguably one of the most desirable types of tiles on the market for this very reason, as well as their beautiful blue or grey finish and appearance. Natural roof slates are mined and extracted in many different regions, each with their own unique qualities.

Brazilian Roofing Slates

Brazilian slate has quickly become one of the largest in exporting in the world. It is defined by it’s stunning grey and black hues, and is generally more affordable than most other natural roof slate. Many of the Brazilian slates we stock are of the highest grade, meaning they contain little imperfections such as carbon, ensuring they will stand the test of time.

Canadian Roofing Slates

We stock premium Canadian slate, sourced from Glendyne in Quebec. Graded to the highest standard, this Canadian roofing slate is not imperfected by metal or pyrite, meaning it will not rust in wet weather, including acid rain. It is so durable it comes with a 75 year guarantee.

Chinese Slate

Here at Roofing Superstore, we stock robust Chinese slates which have a warranty of 75 years. They are available in a dark grey colour, and are naturally split, meaning no machinery was used to cut them, allowing them to pertain a naturally rustic, uneven finish.

Spanish Slate

Spanish slate deposits are some of the oldest in the world and offer both first and second class quality slate. Their blue/grey colour makes them beautifully distinctive, and having millions of years to develop their properties of strength and durability, it is no wonder they are one of the most-sought after roofing slates on the market.

Welsh Slate

The very first type of slate to be extracted, Welsh slate has been relied on for centuries, so its no wonder it has earned its name for having the most robust and lasting properties. Stocked in blue, grey and sometimes heather colours, Welsh roofing slate is recognised globally for being the highest standard of slate for roofs.

Delivery Notes

Our slates are usually delivered on a six-wheeled lorry (11m long & 2.4m wide) with a tail-lift facility to offload on solid, level ground with a pump truck.

Non-compliance to delivery restrictions may result in additional delivery charges. Should you specifically require a crane or small vehicle offload, please notify us at the time of placing the order, as an additional charge may be incurred. Please allow 5% extra in the ordered quantity to cover acceptable breakage in transporting natural slate products.
