Description

Del Carmen is a Spanish quarry producing first-grade slate that's drawn from a single uniform slate vein. The consistency and the quality of this Del Carmen slate are proven by its certification for use in Snowdonia National Park, English Heritage, and Heritage Scotland as a completely accepted alternative to Welsh slate.

Tested to BS EN 12326, this Del Carmen Spanish slate reaches the highest certification in the UK, France and the US, with ultra-grade slates achieving A1-T1-S1 and having a 75-year guarantee from the supplier, SSQ. Due to its lifespan expectancy exceeding 75 years, it can be considered more sustainable as it can last three times longer than other roofing tiles. Since it is taken straight from a single vein of the Del Carmen quarry, there's no synthesising and processing which emits CO2.

This Del Carmen slate is between 4mm and 6mm thick and has a unique, rust-free warranty from the supplier. This stunning natural roofing material gives an unrivalled finish that can be installed in the harshest conditions thanks to its low water absorption and excellent strength.

Please note:

  • Our slates are typically delivered on a six-wheeled lorry (11m long and 2.4m wide) with a tail-lift facility to offload on solid, level ground with a pump truck
  • Non-compliance to delivery restrictions may result in additional delivery charges. Should you specifically require a crane or small vehicle offload, please notify us at the time of placing the order, as an additional charge may be incurred.
  • Please allow 5% extra in the ordered quantity to cover acceptable breakage in transporting natural slate products.

You will need 19.6 per m2. We also advise to add on 5% to the total to allow for breakages and wastage.
