Spanish natural slate, Passaro, named after the quarry it's selected from, is a slate with an even surface and no risk of discolouration. This pre-holed slate is a tough and durable natural material with a smooth overall finish. It also has a consistent thickness between 4mm and 6mm, which gives an even roof slope.

You'll be pleased to find that Spanish natural slate samples are continuously tested at the quarry. This ensures they meet the BS EN 12326-1 standard for roofing slate. Acceptable levels of carbon content and a smooth surface are combined to make this slate a firm favourite for consistent, traditional and attractive roofs. For reassurance, it comes with a 50-year guarantee thanks to its quality and durability.

This Spanish natural slate can be installed on pitches as low as 25° in moderately exposed locations and 30° when severely exposed up to a maximum of 90°.

  • When fitting Spanish slate, an extra 5% is recommended to offset any breakage in transport or installation.

Hi. how do I calculate how many to order? The overlap needs to go over the nail holes of the tile underneath, so what distance are the nail holes from the top so I can calculate the overlap and therefore calculate the number of tiles I need? Thanks. Laurence

Answer:

M2 of the roof x (500 x 250mm per m2 = 19.6) + 5% extra for waist

what is the headlap for these slates?

Answer:

These would be holed to be installed at a 100mm headlap.
