Description

Manufactured from a polyester base with an SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) bitumen coating, this Easyseal roofing top sheet also features an upper surface with a special finishing of slate mineral. The release film protects the underneath of the sheet and can easily be removed with ease when installing to BS 8217: 2005, 'Code of Practice for Reinforced bitumen membranes for roofing' and IKO fixing guidelines.

With a two-layer system, Easyseal systems are ideal for smaller roofing applications, including porches, garages, extensions and dormer windows. They are also usable on larger-scale applications due to the easy no-fire installations as per IKO's 'Step by Step' fixing instructions.

The self-adhesive properties eliminate the need for gas torches and hot works, hot bitumen, and any other messy sealants that CAN make installations irritable and time-consuming.

Due to changes in the manufacturing process, the new stock of this product will display a slightly different shade of green compared to older stock.

Will cold seal flat roofing felt seal to concreat and stainless steel

Answer:

You would need to primer the concrete and use some kind of flashing tape on the steal section (as long as its a small section)

Hi, can I put top sheet straight onto new osb roof without using the underlay

Answer:

Technically yes, however, its always good practice to use an under, to give better protection

Hi as a follow up question concerning applying this over existing shed felt. Is there a reason why this should not be applied over existing roof felt? Can't the bonding be made safe by adding some felt adhesive?

Answer:

The glue on the Easyseal will not stick to existing felt.

How long roughly will this last on a slightly pitched garage roof?

Answer:

If installed to the manufactures spec's 10+ years - depending on heavy weather and location

Could this be used on an old poly-carbonate roof on a car port to tidy it up

Answer:

This would normally need to be laid onto boards. So not really ideal for use on Polycarbonate.

We have just had our garage dry lined and it has a bubbled mebrane finish. Can this go ontop?

Unfortunately not this would need to go onto boards I am afraid so the old felt would have to be removed first.

Hello can you explain the difference between this and the underlay? Do both products need to be used together? Also will this be suitable for use onto osb?

Answer:

For a fully secure system you would need to apply the underlay first, then this cap sheet on top to finish the roof.

This is fine to be applied directly onto OSB board, but you can also use the Primer first to ready it for application.
