Find out moreThe EasySeal self-adhesive roofing system has been designed to remove the requirement for hot bitumen and or naked flames for anyone installing roofing membranes. EasySeal is a two-layer high performance system, which was originally developed for small roofs, such as those over garages, porches, extensions and dormer windows etc. However, the fire-safe benefits of EasySeal are equally applicable for large projects. The self-adhesive application process, using no hot bitumen, gas torches or large amounts of messy liquids, makes it an ideal option for experienced contractors or competent DIY installers alike.

Underlay
The EasySeal Underlay is manufactured with an inert glass fibre base, coated with SBS modified bitumen. The
upper surface has a non-removable polyethylene film, with a removable release film to the underside. Both the capsheet and underlay have specially formulated self-adhesive additives in the coating.
Application
IKO EasySeal roofing membranes should be installed generally in accordance with BS 8217: 2005, ‘Code of Practice for Reinforced bitumen membranes for roofing’ and IKO fixing instructions. EasySeal roofing is applied as a two-layer system, bonded by the removal of the release film on the reverse of the product, in accordance with the detailed 'Step by Step' fixing instructions available from IKO.
In cool weather conditions, the use of a hot gun air will assist the self-adhesive bond of the coating at lap joints. Note: Hot bitumen or gas torches should not be used.

Question:
can I apply it over a GRP roof?
Answer:
No this would need to be sealed down onto boards ideally and would not bond with GRP.
Question:
Can it be used to extend an area already covered with 3 layer torch on felt, i.e. how is the join executed?
Answer:
This could be used for that purpose, the self adhesive underside should create a join but you may want to also use some bitumen sealant along the join.
