VELUX GGU Roof Windows

VELUX roof windows produced after 1968 each have an informational code in the top right corner, indicating their specifications. The first three letters tell us the product type, function, and material. Here’s VELUX GGU windows explained…

The first ‘G’ means that the product is a window.

The second ‘G’ indicates that the window’s functionality is centre-pivot. These roof windows allow ample ventilation and are particularly easy to clean due to being able to rotate 180 degrees. They can also be fitted lower down than standard roof windows.

Finally, the ‘U’ tells us the window is made from polyurethane. This material is particularly suited to rooms with high levels of moisture such as bathrooms and en-suites.

The numbers and letters following this part of a VELUX window code indicate the size, variant and production code, and can be found in the top right corner. If you need more information on VELUX window codes, contact our excellent customer service team on 01752 692 760 or to get a free quote.
