Description

The specially designed Wallbarn BALANCE EXTRA adjustable pedestals are ideal for decking and paving projects. The self-levelling headpieces have been developed to give extra scope and flexibility, so differences are accommodated within the surface beneath the pedestal. The BALANCE also helps alleviate blemishes and ridges in the sub-deck or changes in the thickness of your paving slabs which makes the upper surface uneven.

Whereas BALANCE pedestals are available in heights from 25mm up to 395mm, BALANCE EXTRA pedestals give an extended height range from 100mm up to 395mm in just three different products.

This suspended system uses the weight of the slab or decking to hold everything into place. Rainwater runs between and underneath, so there is no standing water left on the surface of your floor. This dramatically reduces the risk of slipping and causing serious injury.

You can hide unsightly objects such as cables, water pipes and drainage outlets underneath the paving slabs as well, improving the aesthetics of your floor.

Decking Applications

  • When used with timber decking systems, the lugs(fins) are set out towards the edges of the headpiece to give a 55mm gap between each one. This allows a timber joist to fit between the lugs (fins), and then decking boards are can be fixed to the joist frame. Installers are able to create decking surfaces onto structural decks much faster by adjusting the height of pedestals rather than cutting furrings.

Paving Applications

  • The self-levelling headpiece design has four positioning lugs (fins) laid out in a crucifix formation set towards the edges of the headpiece. The design means that it robust, stable and durable. The headpiece has separate parts that allow up to 5% or 2.86 degrees of slope correction in all directions. This allows smooth movement and positioning of the paving slab. Slips and sharp tilting are avoided owing to the superior design and solid manufacture. The lugs (fins) separate paving slabs and tiles on the headpiece to allow sufficient drainage between slabs, which create a uniform paving line, so the slabs are laid entirely straight. A rubber anti-shock pad can slot onto the headpiece to give a better grip to the slab and help insulate against vibration and noise travelling through to the deck beneath.

  • Shims, slope correctors, cross spacers and other accessories can also be used with the BALANCE Pedestals.
