Find out moreDesigned to replace lead in most contemporary roofing applications, this 5000mm Wakaflex® Anthracite Alternative Lead Flashing is BBA-certified, flexible, lead-free and adhesive. It has multiple advantages compared to traditional lead flashings when working in the construction industry, including the quick and straightforward installation process and being made from a lightweight, non-toxic material.
Used for an array of applications such as rising parts of structures like dormers, chimneys and all abutments at walls, this Wakaflex® flashing is suitable for use on a roof with a minimum pitch of the tile up to a maximum of 90°. Effortless to apply with excellent stretchability in both directions, it has a unique product composition with a self-welding effect.
For a secure fit, laps should be at least 50mm. Utilise a roller to apply consistent pressure, ensuring a snug result. Lay Wakaflex® exclusively on surfaces that are dry, dust-free and free from oils, guaranteeing optimal adhesion and longevity. For robust integration into brickwork, turn into joints or chase in by at least 30mm. In the case of larger or uneven joints, create a welt at the back and seal it with a reliable sealant. Strategically fold strips of Wakaflex® as wedges into brickwork before sealing with a trusted sealant to secure the flashing in place.
At top edge abutments, cover slates with Wakaflex® by a minimum of 150mm, turning up the wall by 75mm. Secure it in brickwork joints. At mansards, extend over slates on the lower roof by at least 150mm. Secure with a lay board and tilting fillet on the upper roof, extending the flashing 150-200mm up the slope. Nail into position at the top at approximately 150mm intervals. This flashing is suited for use as saddles, ridge/wall junctions, fixing around roof outlets or with Wakaflex®'s top edge abutment ventilator.
