For ease during cleaning, this IPL 0073G laminated inner toughened outer pane is a fantastic glazing choice from VELUX. With a variety of sizes available, it is versatile across a range of needs and applications.

The inner pane has been safety laminated and reduces the chance of injury and improves safety, especially on windows that advance head height. If windows are broken, it will hold the glass together to prevent it from scattering and falling into your room. As for the clear and clean coating, it makes the outer pane easier to wipe down for clear views over longer stretches of time. The outer pane is also toughened for added strength and resilience.

Wish to replace glass in Velux GGL 3 1018G09 dates back to about 1985. Will the M08 fit this unit?

Answer:

Unfortunately glass replecemt is no longer possible for a unit of that age I am afraid

Can you confirm that the size shown is the frame size, not the replacement pane size?

Answer:

Correct - the 55cm x 98cm is the C04 frame size, not the pane size.

Question:

What is the difference between the VELUX IPL C04 0073”G” and the VELUX IPL C04 0073?

Answer:

The 'G' is the most recent.  Sometimes VELUX tweak the product code, even if they do something like change the packaging, etc.

Question:

Does this item come with the adhesive tape to fix the unit in place?

Answer:

This comes with Butyl putty which allows you to seal the pane into the frame.
