This cavity closer from Timloc offers an effective thermal barrier and Damp Proof Course between the inner frame and outer wall leaf. Featuring a lightweight and rigid uPVC profile fitted with insulation material, it can be used to close openings in cavity walls, including external walls and windows. It can also be used to pre-form openings when the window frames or door need to be installed at a later date.
The 'check reveal' feature is especially common in Central Europe and Scotland and includes an opening formed in the outer masonry skin where the external structural opening is smaller than the window frame, meaning the exterior face of the window frame when fitted, pushes up against the back of the outer skin. In this situation, the primary weather seal forms between the opening and the front face of the window instead of a conventional 'flush' reveal and the outer perimeter of the window.
The Timloc range of cavity closers and acoustic fire-rated cavity stops provides various insulation and performance to meet the differing requirements of today's projects. The multi-width profiles have been specially created to allow stockists and merchants to hold two sizes only, which are quick and easy to trim on-site to fit a variety of cavity width requirements.
