This HipMaster Plus offers the perfect solution for effective hip ventilation in conjunction with Tapco ridge and hip tiles and RidgeMaster Plus. It ensures optimal airflow through its integral ventilation system. Suitable for use on roof pitches ranging from 14° to 45°, these TapcoSlate HipMaster Plus Vent Inserts are easily inserted beneath the hip.

With a patented triple-baffle system, these HipMaster Plus Vent Inserts are designed to keep blowing snow and rain from getting in. Additionally, the internal filter stops the entry of leaves, insects and other debris. Thanks to their low-profile design, they seamlessly blend with your roofline, ensuring an unobtrusive appearance. With nailing supports and structural ribs, they boast exceptional durability and resistance to cracking, withstanding the impact of falling tree branches and even hammer blows. Due to the self-aligning interlocking ends and built-in end caps, they are effortless to install accurately and adjust to the roof pitch.

By following the step-by-step instructions, you can achieve a successful installation. To achieve your desired ventilation, using the RidgeMaster Plus 11" (279mm) variant is recommended. Begin by cutting a 1" (25mm) opening in the roof ridge, ensuring that all cuts end 12" (305m) away from outside walls, chimneys, ridge corners or hip joints. Install the slates up to the opening. To prevent fine powder snow from infiltrating between keyways, fold the felt over the last course of slates or install a metal J channel. Securely install the RidgeMaster Plus using 3" (76mm) roofing nails. It should extend 12" (305mm) beyond the slot opening for optimal performance and aesthetics along the entire length of the ridge.

Then, nail the TapcoSlate Ridge Cap pieces over the RidgeMaster Plus, precisely hitting the designated RidgeMaster Plus nail target area. Stainless steel nails measuring 3" (76mm) in length are recommended for this task. The RidgeMaster Plus features overlapping and interlocking ends that create a single structurally integrated and weather-tight system when laid end to end. Ensure the overlap end is placed on the outside terminal end of the ridge. The factory end of the ridge vent should be placed on the opposite terminal end for complete coverage. You can benefit from an impressive 12.228 square inches (7889mm²) of Net Free Ventilation Area (NVFA) per linear foot, promoting efficient airflow.

Please note:

• This product is only available in slate grey (703) colour but is not visible once the ridge is installed.
• Ridges are not included and should be purchased separately.
• Delivery of our slates is typically carried out on a six-wheeled lorry (11m long and 2.4m wide) equipped with a tail-lift facility for offloading on solid, level ground using a pump truck.
• Failure to comply with delivery restrictions may result in additional charges. If you require a crane or small vehicle offload, please inform us when placing your order to determine any additional feeds.
• We recommend allowing an extra 5% in the ordered quantity to account for acceptable breakage during the transportation of natural slate products.
