With three layers of polypropylene-reinforced heavy laminated foil, this Thermal Vapour Barrier is equipped with commendable reflective properties to benefit its uValue. It creates an 'airtight' layer for the entire building envelope and, in turn, enhances energy performance in both new and retrofit projects.
This SuperFOIL SFTV barrier achieves an R-value of 0.95 for roofs, 1.42 for walls and 2.8 for floors when including two air gaps.

Can this product be retro fitted under slate tiles on a pitched roof to prolong the life of a bituminous underlay. The house is in South Africa where temps range from 5c to 40c throughout the year?
Answer:
We wouldn't recommend using SFTV over the top of a felt.
SFBB may be the better option as it was designed to be used as a secondary rain barrier, however we cannot guarantee the results after as it hasn't been designed / intended for that purpose.
