Rockwool's 'RW' Slab range is a reliable and versatile thermal, acoustic, and fire insulation option for general building applications. This range utilises high-quality resin-bonded slabs in various standard thicknesses and densities, with specialist dimensions available by special order. Black and white tissue, as well as aluminium foil facings, are also available on 600mmx1200mm slabs for added versatility. The Rockwool RW range boasts excellent insulative and water-repelling properties and is certified to EN 13162, standing out as a durable, economical, and easy-to-install insulation solution. This pack contains twelve easy-to-handle slabs, with a thickness of 30mm, giving around 8.64m² of coverage.
In terms of sound, Rockwool stone wool products impede transmission both through the structure and at the surface source itself, giving high coefficients across a wide range of frequencies. For fire resistance, when backed with either aluminium or glass fleece on one or both sides, these slabs achieve A1 classification for BS EN 13501-01, complying with non-combustible material definitions in the UK and Ireland Building Regulations. In addition, these slabs are light enough to be carried by hand and can be cut to size easily with a sharp knife.
