Description
The DryVent Ridge System provides a continuous weathertight air path from the roof void to the outside within a mechanically fixed ridge, complying with the requirements of the Building Regulations. The system can also be easily converted when no high-level ventilation is required at the ridge.
The DryVent Ridge System is suitable for use with all Redland tiles and slates with concrete Half Round, Universal Angle and Rosemary Half Round Ridge Tiles, with the exception of Old Hollow, Cathedral, Postel and Redland 49. When used in conjunction with Gas Flue Ridge Terminals, use the Gas Flue Conversion Pack.
Components
Each pack contains sufficient components to secure a 2.7m ridge line (1.8m for Rosemary tiles)
• Profile Filler Units (uPVC - Grey): tile specific
• 6 Ridge-to-Ridge seals (either Universal Angle or Half Round) (Polypropylene - Black) with Stainless Steel woodscrews and clamp plates.
• 6 Stainless Steel Ridge Batten straps with 12 Stainless Steel ring shank nails.
• In addition, Block End Ridge Tiles or Ridge End Caps will be required for all ridge situations.
Application
• The system is suitable for traditional timber rafter, timber trussed rafter and rigid sarking constructions. The system is designed to fit a straight and level ridge line with equal pitches on either side of the ridge.
• When used with traditional timber rafters, the height of the ridge board above the apex of the rafters will alter the height of the ridge batten required.
• Ensure the ridge tile securing screw achieves a minimum 15 mm of penetration.
• Where timber sarking is used with the system, sarking is left short of apex to allow 10mm air gap, underlay is cut and turned up between counterbattens and fixed to top tiling battens. Counterbattens are extended to form an apex to support the ridge tree batten.
• A special pack (9396) is required when using Ornamental Universal Angle Ridge Tiles.
• Where Gas Flue Ridge Terminals are used with the system, Gas Flue Conversion Packs should be used. One pack per Terminal.
• Counterbattens/rafters on adjacent roof slopes must be aligned.
