Find out moreFor over five decades, the Redland 49 tiles have left a permanent mark on London's skyline, defining its unique roofscapes with an exceptional blend of strength and aesthetic charm. A compact version brings you all these benefits in a lighter package.
This smaller format not only boasts a reduced unit weight but also ensures effortless handling and installation. These Redland 49 tiles are an incredibly economical and practical option for your roofing needs.
The through-coloured tiles are suitable for a minimum pitch of 17.5° with a 100mm headlap or 22.5° with a 75mm headlap. The granular tiles can be installed with a minimum pitch of 22.5° and a 100mm headlap or 30° with a 75mm headlap. The maximum pitch can reach up to 90°, depending on your specific fixing specifications. Ensure a secure installation with a maximum headlap of 125mm. For optimal performance, choose a minimum gauge of 257mm. For through-coloured tiles, the maximum gauge is 282mm for pitches below 22.5° and 307mm for pitches at 22.5° and above. For granular tiles, the maximum gauge is 282mm for pitches below 30° and 307mm for pitches at 30° and above.
At a gauge of 282mm, you can achieve coverage of 17.8 tiles per square metre. Increase the gauge to 307mm for a slightly denser coverage of 16.3 tiles per square metre. Choose the appropriate batten size based on your rafter centres. For rafter centres up to 450mm, use the 38mm x 25mm batten size. If you have wider rafter centres up to 600mm, opt for the 50mm x 25mm batten size. To meet your batten requirements, you'll need approximately 3.56 metres of battens per square metre at a 282mm gauge or around 3.26 metres per square metre at a 307mm gauge.
