It is extremely durable, unaffected by normal extremes of temperature and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemicals.
It retains its natural colour, even in UV light and is impermeable to water.
Welsh roofing slate from Penrhyn, Ffestiniog and Cwt-y-Bugail quarries are known to produce the finest roofing slates in the world.
Welsh roofing slates are commonly taken off roofs after 100 years (after the timbers have failed) and re-used. Penrhyn slate, for example, was removed from St Asaph Cathedral after 400 years in use and reused.

Our slates are usually delivered on a Six Wheeled Lorry (11m Long & 2.4m Wide) with a Tail-Lift facility to off-load on solid level ground with a Pump Truck.
Non compliance to delivery restrictions may result in additional Delivery Charges.
Should you specifically require Crane Off-Load or small vehicle please notify us at the time of ordering, as an additional charge may be incurred.
Please allow 5% extra in the ordered quantity to cover acceptable Breakage in transporting Natural Slate Products.
