Description

These small discrete units produce powerful high frequency sound which effects the pest bird's inner ears making for an extremely uncomfortable envrionment.
Highly successful on many species of birds although not bird specific and may effect any mammal within 8-10 meters of the speaker.
This system will not deter pest birds if they are already nesting, or have nested on the site in the past. Nests will need to be cleared and all traces of organic or fecal matter will need to be washed away using a suitable disinfectant such as PX Ornikill or Guanaway prior to installing the unit.
Consider using multiple units to avoid "sound shadows" where birds can hide. Avoid siting the unit in a position where the pest birds could perch along side, above, below or behind the unit, unless a second unit is used to protect these potential perches.

  • Ideal for use on balconies.
  • Can be used indoors or outdoors, 10m power cable ready attached and ingress protected.

How it works

  • Ultrasonic bird repellent unit, virtually silent to humans, uses high frequency sound
  • Continuous 15-25 KHz, 90dB (@1m) output repels birds 24/7
  • Built-in wall mounting bracket, ideal for balconies, ledges, sills & parapets
  • Coverage: 900 sq ft / 65 sq m max range in front of speaker 8-10m
  • Can be set to either constant output or motion-activated output using PIR sensor
  • Mains adapter included with 10m flex and can also take 4 x C batteries (not included)

Frequency range = 17khz - 65khz in an oval dispersal pattern in front of the speaker. Max sound pressure 90dB at 1m.

Coverage

  • 11 square metres.
  • Furthest distance from the speaker where this will be effective is approximately 15 metres. 

Positioning of Balcony Guard

  • On balcony installations up to 10m in length, for best results use 2 units on opposite walls facing each other, one positioned 225mm off the floor, and one positioned 225mm above the handrail. If budget only allows one unit, mount it high-up in the corner looking diagonally down across the balcony for best results.
  • Effective distance up to 10-meters in line of sight from the speaker. Oval dispersion pattern makes this ideal for small linear runs such as ledges and balcony rails.
  • Must operate line of sight with problem area.
  • Ultrasound does not travel through or around solid objects. Think of the speaker output as a laser beam, if the speaker can not "see" the pest bird then the pest bird will not be affected by it.

Please note that these units repel birds rather than scare birds. This means that the pest bird will only move to just beyond the unit's effective range rather than be scared away from the area completely, as in the case of a bird screr. Therefore optimal positioning of the unit is critical for success.

Please note these units can be heard by a small number of people depending on their hearing range. The 8m oval dispersion needs to be considered when siting this device.
Please note, it is a criminal offence in the UK and indeed the rest of the EU to use a sonic deterrent for the purposes of disturbing bats in particular to deter them from roosting. All bats and roosts are protected by the law in the UK/EU. If you are experiencing issues with bats, please call the Bat Conservation Trust on 0345 1300 228.

I have a length of 15mm plastic pipe suspended at a height of approximately 8M between my house and garage, a distance of approximately 10M. Will this product deter pigeons which have previously and are currently nesting in the vicinity from perching on the plastic pipe.
