Find out moreThese Marley Duo Modern Interlocking Concrete Roof Tiles feature innovative mock bonds down their centres, in turn creating the appearance of small format slates. This way, installation remains simple thanks to the standard interlocking design while providing excellent covering capacity.
As an affordable product and an ideal replacement for slate, these concrete interlocking tiles include various smooth, traditional and modern aesthetics and have minimal impact on the environment. They also make a sturdy and contemporary alternative to standard plain tiles.
With a 75mm headlap, you can acquire a net capacity of 9.9 tiles per square metre for covering your roof. Opting for a 100mm headlap allows you to increase the density to 10.7 tiles per square metre. The approximate weight of the roof, adorned with tiles, amounts to 50kg/m² (0.49kN/m²) when a 75mm headlap is used or 54kg/m² (0.53kN/m²) with a 100mm headlap. To ensure a secure installation, it is advisable to utilise 50mm x 3.35mm nails. The structural integrity of your roof can be maintained by adhering to a minimum headlap requirement of 75mm and a maximum roof gauge of 345mm.
To accommodate a 75mm headlap, you will need approximately 2.9 linear metres of battens for every square metre of net roof. Increasing the headlap to 100mm necessitates 3.1 linear metres of battens per square metre. If the distances between your rafters or supports do not exceed 450mm centres, it is recommended to use 38mm x 25mm battens, fixed to BS 5534. However, for larger intervals of up to 600mm centres between rafters or supports, it is preferable to opt for 50mm x 25mm battens, which are also fixed to BS 5534.
