Marley's Double Roman interlocking concrete tiles offer a contemporary twist on the timeless roll profile that has adorned European roofs for over two millennia. Combining the functional advantages of modern interlocking concrete tile technology with its classic design, they are the perfect solution to meet your planning requirements.
These concrete interlocking tiles provide an excellent alternative to standard plain tiles, delivering a sleek and refined appearance that enhances the visual appeal of any project. Beyond their aesthetic charm, they boast several noteworthy advantages. Not only do they have a low ecological footprint, but they are also simple to install and budget-friendly. Thanks to the utilisation of concrete materials, they ensure a sturdy and durable structure.
You can achieve optimal roof coverage with ease. With a 75mm headlap, you can obtain a net roof covering capacity of 9.7 tiles per square metre. You can increase the density to 10.4 tiles per square metre by opting for a 100mm headlap. The approximate weight of the tiled roof is 44kg/m² (0.43kN/m²) with a 75mm headlap or 47kg/m² (0.46kN/m²) with a 100mm headlap. For a secure installation, using 65mm x 3.35mm nails is recommended. You can maintain the integrity of your roof with a minimum headlap requirement of 75mm and a maximum roof gauge of 345mm.
For a 75mm headlap, you'll need 2.9 linear metres of battens per square metre of net roof. Increase this to 3.1 linear metres per square metre with a 100mm headlap. If your rafter/support distances do not exceed 450mm centres, using 38mm x 25mm battens (compliant with BS 5534) is recommended. For larger rafter/support intervals up to 600mm centres, opt for 50mm x 25mm battens (also compliant with BS 5534).
