Find out moreFrom Marley's vast range of concrete tiles, this Ashmore tile is a remarkable large format interlocking tile. It emulates the classic double-lap plain tile and stands out as a cost-effective choice, requiring fewer tiles to achieve the desired traditional plain tile aesthetic.
This tile boasts exceptional performance and adaptability, capable of functioning effectively even at pitches as low as 22.5° at a 92mm headlap or 25° at a 77mm headlap and as high as 90°. With its concealed interlocking system, the Ashmore guarantees swift and effortless installation. A contemporary alternative to conventional plain tiles, it is highly regarded for its sleek and polished appearance. It works to reduce environmental impact, simplify installation, and improve affordability without compromising on durability and strength.
These tiles have a nominal thickness of 16mm and can be fastened using the recommended 45mm x 3.35mm slate nails, while still retaining peak performance with a minimum roof headlap of 77mm and a maximum roof gauge of 190mm. You can obtain a net roof covering capacity of 17.5 tiles per square metre at a 77mm headlap or increase the density to 19 tiles per square metre at a 92mm headlap. When employing a 77mm headlap, the approximate weight of the tiling is 48kg/m² (0.46kN/m²), whereas, with a 92mm headlap, it is 52kg/m² (0.50kN/m²).
Per net roof, you will need 5.3 linear metres of battens per square metre at a 77mm headlap, or 5.8 linear metres at a 92mm headlap. It is advisable to use 38mm x 25mm battens (in compliance with BS 5534) when the rafter/support distances do not exceed 450mm centres. Alternatively, if you have larger rafter/support intervals that do not exceed 600mm centres, you can opt for 50mm x 25mm battens (also compliant with BS 5534).
