Find out moreMade from durable polypropylene with a black finish, this Manthorpe GW293-BS Left Hand Block Catchment Tray is ideal for projects specifying random stone or blockwork. Tailored for large coursing heights, typically 150mm to 225mm, in stonework or blockwork applications, it is strategically positioned at the lowest point of the abutment.
Designed for functionality, this GW2930BS Tray features upstands at both ends, ensuring efficient collection and redirection of water from the trays above. The flexible perpend protector is seamlessly integrated and acts as a barrier against driving rain, safeguarding the outer wall and preventing water tracking across the masonry. For optimal drainage, pair this catchment tray with the G950 Weep Vent, working in tandem to channel collected water away.
This catchment tray boasts a unique front mortar clip, removable once the mortar sets, revealing a 25mm deep aperture for lead insertion and secure fastening with lead wedges. As a key component of the blockwork stepped tray system, this tray is perfect for the bottom of the run, featuring an extended stop end for large coursing. For 225mm and 150mm coursing, it comes in a 330mm length and is suitable for all roof pitches and cavity widths from 50mm up to 100mm.
For a straightforward installation process, begin by striking a line or using a dummy truss and offset 75mm from the proposed finished roof line. Place one tray in each course at the intersection of this line for optimal positioning. Ensure precision during installation by avoiding the placement of trays into the nearest perpendicular end. If necessary, cut blockwork to achieve the correct pitch, knowing it will be concealed by the lead flashing. For the best results, refrain from dry bedding the trays. Instead, lay them on a thin skim of mortar to ensure a secure and effective fit.
