Find out moreFor cavity wall ventilation in existing walls, this Manthorpe G952 Refurbishment Weep Vent supplies a fix for missing or insufficient ventilation. It is fantastic for rendered wall constructions where it can be challenging to use traditional built-in weep vents. Installation is rapid and simple, and the weep vent is clear in colour to coordinate with brick, stone and render finishes.
You can position these vents at high or low level to match the necessary detail. They should be arranged at both high and low level to accomplish a cross-flow ventilated cavity, when necessary.
These weep vents are easy to prepare for. Simply mark out their placements and drill a 25mm diameter hole through the external leaf of the wall into the cavity, using a minor upward angle at these points. The hole should be free of debris.
When installing, align the tube with the hole with the front chevrons of the grill facing up and the flat edge of the drip feature horizontal, parallel with the wall run. Push the vent into the hole with your palm until the back face of the flange is flush against the substrate. The ribs along the tube will grip to hold it in place, so more force might be needed to fully push the vent into the hole. If so, carefully tap the vent in with a rubber mallet.
