Find out moreThese Blue Label Western Red Cedar Roof Shingles have a delightful rustic aesthetic appeal and are a high-quality alternative to the red label shingles. This environmentally friendly choice delivers a high level of thermal insulation for your outbuilding with one of the lowest carbon footprints of any commonly used building product and eight times greater insulation value than concrete.
These versatile roof shingles have multiple uses and are lightweight and easy to transport. With minimal maintenance requirements, these eco-friendly shingles are naturally resistant to decay, moisture and insect damage with their outstanding resilience to hailstorms. In roofing applications, they have a life expectancy of 20 to 40 years and in cladding applications, 40 to 60 years. At a roof pitch of 90°, 3.47m² per bundle can be obtained, from 22° to 89°, 2.28m² per bundle and from 14° up to 21°, 1.73m² per bundle.
You can install these Cedar shingles to roof pitches as low as 14°. For a maximum life expectancy, each shingle should be fixed with two stainless steel annular ring nails. As a benchmark, roughly 1kg of nails is necessary to fix six bundles of shingles. Each Hip and Ridge needs four nails. 144 nails are needed for one bundle of Hips and Ridges. 1kg is required for three bundles of Hip and Ridge Cappings.
