Find out moreThis high-performance IKO EasySeal Self-Adhesive Vapour Control Layer consists of a robust aluminium core, strengthened with polyester reinforcement and coated with a self-adhesive bitumen blend enhanced with rubber modifiers. Its underside is protected by a release film backing while the top surface boasts a refined mineral finish.
For quick completion of side laps, a minimum salvage of 75mm width, protected by the release film, is included. When it comes to built-up systems, adherence to the industry's standard, BS 8217:2005, Code of Practice for Built-Up Roofing, is vital. Additionally, installation must align with IKO's specifications. This self-adhesive vapour control layer seamlessly bonds to the substrate by peeling off the reverse release film to expose the self-adhesive coating. All roof decks must be dry, clean and primed with IKOpro Bonding Agent, allowing it to dry before application. For optimal results, this S-A VCL is easiest to apply in temperatures exceeding 10°C.
Under normal conditions, the side laps of this Easyseal SA VCL are self-adhesive. However, in cold weather or if the self-adhesive laps have been contaminated, the use of hot air equipment is recommended to ensure complete sealing. For end laps, heat welding using hot-air equipment is required. If the VCL has been utilised as a temporary waterproofing layer and left exposed, both sides and end laps must be heat welded to ensure full sealing. During installation in cold weather, it is advisable not to store materials on the roof overnight.
For optimum storage conditions, this IKO EasySeal Vapour Control Layer should be kept upright on a clean and level surface, away from excessive heat and sheltered from the elements. It should be stored within the temperature range of 5°C to 24°C for 24 hours before use.
Please note:
