Find out moreFor homeowners wanting a classical-style decorative ridge tile for their roof, this GRC 450mm Three Hole Crested Universal Angle Ridge is an ideal choice. Manufactured from strong and durable glass fibre-reinforced concrete, it is suitable for roof pitches between 27.5° and 37.5°.
Available in a choice of colours to best suit your project, the surface of each tile is coated with water-based paint. This results in a robust and uniform product.
If you are wet fixing your ridges, locate the top course of special short slates to make sure the required ridge cover is given. If you are using socketed ridges, identify and position overlapping sockets away from prevailing weather conditions. Edge bed all ridges in mortar and solid bed all ridge tile joints. Finish the bedding and pointing neatly for best results. The mortar should comprise three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement. A proprietary bonding agent mixed with cement and applied to the underside of the ridge will enhance the bond between the ridge and the mortar.
Additional mechanical fixings should be used as required in accordance with BS 5534 Part 1. 2003 and the current codes of practice. Securely position and solid bed the end ridge tile at the edge of the roof. When necessary, affix an appropriate hip iron at the base of the hip rafter. Trim the lower hip tile to match the eaves' alignment. Finally, complete the process of bed and mortar finishing.
