Find out moreThis GRC Plain Angled Ridge Block End is made with glass fibre-reinforced cement-based materials containing Portland cement, sand, glass fibres, and pigment. With various angles and colours, this ridge block end is coated with water-based paint for a robust, long-lasting, and consistent final product.
During wet-fix installations, begin by identifying the top course of special short slates designed for proper ridge cover. Place socketed ridge tiles with overlapping sockets away from prevailing weather conditions if necessary. Securely edge bed all ridges with mortar and solid bed all ridge tile joints, making sure bedding is neat. Use a mortar mix of three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement for clean bedding.
For enhanced bonding, apply a proprietary bonding agent mixed with cement on the underside of the ridge. Adhere to the guidelines specified in BS 5534 Part 1 (2003) and follow the current codes of practice for applying additional mechanical fixings. Neatly and firmly bed the end of the end ridge tile. In the case of hips, attach a suitable hip iron to the base of the hip rafter if necessary. Align the bottom hip tile with the eaves, make necessary cuts, and complete the bedding and pointing process.
Keep an eye on the weather conditions and avoid applying mortar during cold, wet, or very warm weather.
