For a flawless finish, the surface is skillfully coated with water-based paint, ensuring a product that exudes both strength and durability.
For installation of wet fix ridges, begin by securing the top course of special short slates, providing the necessary ridge cover. If you opt for socketed ridge tiles, position them to overlap and safeguard against adverse weather conditions. Expertly bed all ridges in mortar, firmly setting each ridge tile joint. Achieve a neat finish while applying a mortar mixture comprising three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement.
To enhance bonding between the ridge and mortar, using a proprietary bonding agent mixed with cement is recommended, applied to the underside of the ridge. If needed, utilise additional mechanical fixings following the guidelines outlined in BS 5534 Part 1, 2003 and the latest codes of practice. Solidly bed the end of the ridge tile for added stability and reliability. For hips, insert a suitable hip iron into the base of the hip rafter and align the bottom hip tile with the eaves. Ensure a tidy bedding and pointing process.
