Description

Ideal for providing a decorative touch to your roof ridge, this 450mm Plain Angle Ridge with a Scroll Finial is manufactured from a cement-based material reinforced with glass fibres. With a Terracotta finish, it contains Portland cement, pigment, sand and glass fibres. Coated with water-based paint, it has a uniform surface and is highly durable and robust.

This wet fix ridge is straightforward to apply by locating the top course of special short slates to ensure that the necessary ridge cover is provided. If you are utilising a socketed ridge, locate and place the overlapping sockets away from prevailing weather conditions. Solid bed all the ridge tile joints and edge bed all the ridges in mortar. Finish pointing and bedding tidily. The mortar should contain one part Portland cement and three parts sharp sand.

Mixing the cement with a proprietary bonding agent and applying it to the underside of the ridge will help to enhance the bond between the ridge and the mortar. Extra mechanical fixings should be utilised as needed and in accordance with the current codes of practice and BS 5534 Part 1. 2003. Solid bed the edge of the end ridge tile. Fix a suitable hip iron, where required, into the bottom of the hip rafter. Cut the base hip tile to align with the eaves. Finalise the pointing and bedding neatly.

Please note:

  • The mortar should not be applied in cold, wet or exceptionally warm conditions.
