Find out moreAvailable in a range of colours perfectly coordinated with your roofing tiles, this GRC Cocks Comb Crested Universal Angle Ridge will add a decorative touch to your roof ridge. Manufactured using a blend of glass fibres, Portland cement, sand and pigments, it offers the ideal combination of aesthetic charm and durability.
Thanks to the water-based paint finish, this ridge ensures a consistently sleek appearance that will seamlessly integrate into your roofing design. Its exceptional strength and resilience provide unwavering protection against the elements.
When installing wet-fix ridges, begin by identifying the top course of specialised short slates to ensure proper ridge coverage. For socketed ridges, position overlapping sockets away from harsh weather conditions. Bed all ridges securely in a mortar and ensure solid bedding for ridge tile joints. Achieve a tidy finish during the bedding and pointing process. The mortar composition should consist of three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement.
You can enhance the bond between the ridge and mortar by applying a proprietary bonding agent mixed with cement to the underside of the ridge. Depending on requirements and in alignment with BS 5534 Part 1 (2003) and current codes of practice, utilise additional mechanical fixings. Solidly bed the end ridge tile and secure the hip as needed with a suitable hip iron at the base of the hip rafter. Align the bottom hip tile with the eaves and finish with neat bedding and pointing.
