Find out moreCoated with water-based paint to ensure strength, longevity, and high quality, this GRC 300mm Two Hole Crested Angle Ridge comes in a range of angle options. It consists of cement-based materials that contain Portland cement, sand, and pigment and are reinforced with glass fibres.
When installing via wet-fixing, position the top row of specially designed short slates to deliver sufficient coverage for the ridge. In the case of socketed ridges, ensure that the overlapping sockets are oriented away from prevailing weather conditions. You should then apply mortar to securely edge bed all ridges and solid bed ridge tiles. Take care to execute neat bedding and pointing and prepare your mortar mixture using three parts sharp sand and one part Portland cement. For an improved bond between the ridge and mortar, employ a proprietary bonding agent combined with cement underneath the ridge.
When necessary, incorporate additional mechanical fastenings according to BS 5534 Part 1 (2003) and current codes of practice. Afterwards, solid bed the end ridge tile at the end to ensure stability. For hips, attach a compatible hip iron at the base of the hip rafter where needed. Trim the bottom hip tile to align with the eaves, maintaining tidy bedding and pointing. Avoid applying mortar in cold, wet, or excessively warm conditions.
