With different sizes available, these Forticrete Hardrow® Duet Eaves Concrete Roof Tiles contribute to the flexible and reliable concrete tile range. The range's ingenious manufacturing provides the aesthetics and subtle natural patina of natural slate and stone. At a more affordable price than authentic natural slate and stone, Hardrow® Duets gradually mellow with age.
With a double lap that allows for flexible design options, these tiles are easy to fix mechanically rather than with mortar. Hardrow® tiles are made with slight irregularities in size, thickness and shape, in turn elevating the character of the roof and replicating the natural variance that boosts natural stone popularity. The colouring also varies between individual slates, recreating that traditional appearance without stretching the budget.
When fixing above 40°, all slates should be nailed into the batten with 2 x 38mm x 3.35mm aluminium nails (40mm x 4mm for 24 x 18 slates). All nail holes are situated approximately 50mm down from the heads of the slates and 50mm to 100mm in from the side edges with diameters of approximately 5mm. You can hang slates at pitches below 40°, though this relies and depends on conditions. You can get advice on this from the roofing superstore technical department.
