Find out moreFrom Feb, this General Purpose PVA Adhesive Sealer and Bonding Agent is quick drying and suited to a variety of applications across building and DIY markets. It is perfect for bonding wood, plaster, concrete, ceramics and more.
On smooth, flat surfaces, coat both faces with Feb general purpose PVA diluted with an equal volume of water to make it tacky. For bonding smooth wood to wood, apply a thin coat to one face only and press together. When it comes to large areas, such as laminated plastic, clamping or weights might be needed for hold as the bond sets, used after 24 hours, dependent on surface porosity.
For cement screed, renderings, plaster and more, the back background must be sound because the adhesion of the mortar to the floor, wall or ceiling is as good as the surface below. Make sure all flaking and cracking plaster, etc. is removed, and the surface is stable, clean and free from oil and grease. Seal using Feb general purpose - 1:4 dilution. Once dry, apply a bonding coat of neat Feb general purpose PVA. Screed, plaster or render on the tacky bonding coat using established sound practice. When using proprietary premixed plasters, consult manufacturer's recommendations for correct grade. Cure cementitious screeds and renders properly.
