Find out moreThe FAKRO horizontal triple flashing has been designed to allow the installation of three FAKRO conservation roof windows in a horizontal pattern, side by side. The flashing is specifically manufactured for use on slate roofs where the slates are up to 10mm thick, such as natural slates, fibre cement slates and more.
The FAKRO flashings have been manufactured from aluminium in a ridged design, which allows for malleability around the slate and tile profiles. The flashing is then coated in a polyester covering, to add durability, before being finished in black (RAL9005), creating a subtle finish which tends to fit in with most roof colourings.
FAKRO conservation windows have been manufactured by FAKRO specifically for buildings and homes that are situated in conservation areas. The FAKRO conservation windows are designed in a way that will meet a number of planning restrictions in situations where regular FAKRO roof windows would not pass the planning stages.
FAKRO conservation windows are designed with a single vertical black bar down the middle of the window, and black cladding, which not only makes them more suitable for traditional construction, but also helps them to blend into the roof structure more, which helps to retain the character of older buildings on the exterior.
This flashing product has been manufactured specifically for use with conservation windows.
Flashings are an integral part of the installation of a FAKRO window, and although often disregarded, are incredibly important.
Flashings are used to create a tight connection between the roof window and the roof slates, ensuring that the window is fitted accurately, creating a neat finish. The twin flashings tend to allow a distance of around 10cm between each window.
However, the FAKRO flashing is not just used for visual effect, the flashing is also used to protect the windows from weather conditions, creating efficient rainwater drainage with the ridged design, and preventing water entry at the points where the windows connect to the roof.
By installing FAKRO flashings on your slate roof, you are eliminating the potential for water to penetrate the roof, which prevents damp, condensation and structural issues from occurring over time. FAKRO flashings also help to increase the lifespan of the roof and the conservation roof windows.
