Find out moreDuring the late 1800s and early 1900s, deep crimson smooth-faced machine-made plain clay roof tiles gained significant popularity for prominent civic structures and churches. Nowadays, the majority of red plain clay roof tiles have a pinkish hue compared to those manufactured a century ago. However, this traditional single camber clay tile with a Plum Red colour and Smooth-faced finish perfectly mimics the shade and texture of the classic tiles from the past.
Dreadnought Tiles, a renowned British manufacturer established in Staffordshire have honed their craftsmanship for over two centuries, utilising locally sourced Etruria Marl Clay to create stunning clay roof tiles. Designed with a traditional single camber, this Premium Clay Roof Tile from Dreadnought boasts unparalleled strength and endurance.
The same clay is also used in the production of Staffordshire Blue Class A Engineering Bricks, exemplifying its durability. With a wide array of colours and finishes, ranging from captivating blues and brindles to warm browns and radiant reds, no artificial stains or coloured sands are used for a completely organic construction. The kiln atmosphere is carefully controlled, resulting in natural hues that permeate each tile with subtle variations. This inherent quality adds a distinct charm, elevating the aesthetics of any roof.
With a coverage of 60 tiles/m² at a 100mm gauge or 53 tiles/m² at a 115mm gauge, these tiles offer ample protection for your roof.
