Nowadays, the majority of red plain clay roof tiles have a pinkish hue compared to those manufactured a century ago. The same clay is also used in the production of Staffordshire Blue Class A Engineering Bricks, exemplifying its durability. With a wide array of colours and finishes, ranging from captivating blues and brindles to warm browns and radiant reds, no artificial stains or coloured sands are used for a completely organic construction. The kiln atmosphere is carefully controlled, resulting in natural hues that permeate each tile with subtle variations. At their thickest gauge, the tiles weigh approximately 71kg/m² for pitched roofs and 63kg/m² for vertical applications. For secure and reliable fixings, utilise 38mm x 2.65mm aluminium nails. For structural support, use 38mm x 25mm battens.
