Britmet's lightweight and best-selling Plaintile tile-effect solution is the world's only true broken-bond roofing system. Fully BBA-approved, it offers an economic approach to tiling and guaranteed speedy installation. Storm resistant and so easy to handle, this Plaintile roofing panel provides a simple, traditional finish and hard-wearing cladding.
The entire economic Plaintile range is crafted here in the UK from high-grade Aluzinc steel, then coated with a durable finish in a range of colours to suit the property you're working on. The base coat is formed with a tough acrylic resin, stone granules are applied on top, and a clear acrylic overglaze seals the colour for lasting depth. It also weighs just one-seventh the weight of traditional tiles (at 8kg per square metre), meaning less structural support is needed in the roof's design. In turn, this cuts down your project's timescale plus material and labour costs.
This lightweight tile is fully dry-fixed for building regulation compliance and has an AA fire rating that's equal to traditional slates and tiles. With an equivalent width of seven traditional tiles and five Plaintiles per square metre, using Britmet's Plaintile ensures a much faster installation time. With a 40-year warranty against weather damage (even on fully vertical applications), you can be sure that your installation is built to stand up against even the harshest conditions.
You can fix this innovative lightweight tile design to roof pitches as low as 15° and up to 90°. This makes it suitable for vertical cladding and virtually any application and any roof style where a pristine Plaintile finish is required.
