Find out moreSuitable for use with Thistle Plaster Finish or direction decoration and drylining interior surfaces, this Tapered Edge WallBoard from Gyproc features an aerated gypsum core securely bonded to and encased in strong paper liners. Certified to BES 6001, it attains a rating of 'Excellent' and is a standard plasterboard suitable for most applications where acoustic, structural and base fire levels are specified.
Applying the plasterboard is simple. Just fix the boards with the decorative side on the outside to receive a skim plaster finish or joint treatment. Without force, lightly butt the boards together into position and install fixings no closer than 13mm from cut edges and 10mm from bound edges. Arrange cut edges to inner angles whenever possible and remove paper burrs with fine sandpaper. Stagger vertical and horizontal board joints between layers by a 600mm minimum. Position the board to the middle line of framing where this supports board ends or edges.
The ivory facing of this WallBoard can be plastered with either Thistle BoardFinish or Thistle MultiFinish. There should be a minimal delay between finishing the lining and starting plastering. The Gyproc jointing materials produce a crack-resistant, smooth, continuous surface ready for priming, plus the finishing decorative touches and a resilient joint reinforcement. Various jointing specifications are available to suit the board type, site preference and method of application. After the joint treatment has dried, decorative and preparatory work should be completed as quickly as possible.
This Gyproc Wallboard can be cut by scoring with a sharp knife, then snapping the board over a straight edge or using a plasterboard saw. With a sharp knife or utility saw, holes for switch or socket boxes must be cut out before the boards are attached.
