Find out moreQuick and one hour drying at regular temperatures, this Solar Reflective Paint from Everbuild is a thin bituminous based aluminium paint with protective qualities. With a brushable consistency that will dry to a silvery finish, this paint is for applying over primed metal walls and roofs and minimises heat absorption.
Fantastic for extending the life of roof repairs and bituminous coatings that can be degraded by UV light, this paint is ideal for use as a light and heat reflective coating. On products with recently applied bituminous coatings, you should allow time to pass once the final coat has dried before using this paint. Wait six hours for hot applied products, three days for solvent based coatings and two weeks for water based coatings.
This paint is best applied to clean and dry surfaces that are dust free, as well as free of dirt, oil, grease and loose material. Stir the paint before use and regularly while applying. Two coats can be applied by brush or mohair roller, and the second coat should go on when the first is dry (after one to two hours). Your tools can be cleaned with white spirit after use and you should wipe spillages away before the paint sets.
On bituminous surfaces, keep the first coat as thin as possible to eliminate the black colour of the bitumen. The second coat should be thin too. Prevent any ponding and use soft brush bristles with light pressure.
