Find out moreThis 5 litre tin of Black Jack all-weather roof coating features a solvent-based, full-bodied brushable bitumen compound enriched with added fibres for reinforcement. It quickly withstands wash-off from rain shortly after application, serving as an efficient general-purpose roof coating. Specifically formulated for widespread waterproofing in various roofing applications, structural steelwork, and non-plastic guttering, this product is designed to provide reliable protection.
Perfect for winter applications, this all-weather roof coating from Black Jack can be brushed on various materials to establish a waterproof surface. It is versatile enough to re-seal various roof coverings, including slates, tiles, metal sheeting (such as lead, zinc, steel, and iron), asbestos-cement sheeting, concrete roof decks, built-up felt roofs, and asphalt roofs.
The coverage of this roof coating is 1.25m² per litre, with the actual coverage dependent on the porosity of the substrate. Applying two coats results in a dried film of approximately 0.9m, and once done, you can clean your tools using either white spirit or paraffin.
Thorough surface preparation is crucial, as it significantly influences adhesion and the overall longevity of the renovation. Ensure that all coated roof surfaces are clean, stable, sound, and devoid of loose debris, grease, dust, and dirt. To eliminate any traces of fungi and algae growth, use a stiff-bristled brush and treat surfaces with Everbuild fungicidal wash. This not only removes residual spores but also prevents the resurgence of growth.
