Find out moreThis 25 litre can of Black Jack all-weather roof coating is a solvent-based full-bodied brushable bitumen compound with additional fibres for reinforcement. Almost instantly resistant to wash-off caused by rain after application, it is an effective general-purpose roof coating and has been specifically created for general waterproofing in all roofing applications, structural steelwork and non-plastic guttering.
Ideal for use in the winter, this Black Jack all-weather roof coating can be applied by a brush to create a waterproof surface and can re-seal multiple different types of roof coverings such as slates and tiles, metal sheeting including lead, zinc, steel and iron, asbestos-cement sheeting, concrete roof decks, built-up felt roofs and asphalt roofs.
This roof coating provides 1.25m² of coverage per litre which varies dependent on the porosity of the substrate. Two coats offer a dried film of approximately 0.9m. Your tools should be cleaned with white spirit or paraffin.
Preparing the surface is incredibly important and will impact the amount of adhesion and life of the renovation. All coated roof surfaces should be clean, stable, sound and free from loose debris, grease, dust and dirt. All hints of fungi and algae growth should be completely removed with a stiff-bristled brush and surfaces should be treated with Everbuild fungicidal wash to destroy any residual spores and prevent the return of growth.
