Description

A solvent-borne, bituminous black paint for the waterproofing and weather protecting of steelwork and concrete. Used for the protection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, concrete roofing, felt, fibre cement, corrugated iron, asphalt and wood, against water. Surfaces to be painted must be completely dry and clear of loose material and any corroded areas primed prior to application. Suitable for drinking water tanks as it forms an odourless and taint-free bitumen film coating.

Properties
Size : 25 ltrs.
Coverage : approx 4 to 6m2 per litre.
Application : brush or spray.
Colour : black.

Preparation
Thoroughly clean surfaces to be treated. Rust should be wire brushed te remove as much as possible, any residue must be primed with a rust inhibitor primer. Surfaces to be treated must be completely free of water.

Application
Bitumen paint is supplied ready for use and should not require thinning. Apply at least two coats by brush or spray allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat. Please note at very low service temperatures the coating will become less flexible, while at high temperatures it becomes soft and less resistant to degradation by the environment, and will ultimately flow.

Drying time
Approximately 6 hours depending on drying conditions.

Storage life
Shelf life of this product is a minimum of 5 years under good storage conditions in original unopened containers.
