This high-performance vapour barrier from Alutrix is made from reinforced composite aluminium foil with a steadfast self-adhesive backing and removable release film. Ideal for all internal conditions, both standard and exceedingly high humidity environments, this Alutrix 600 vapour barrier is suitable for a broad range of applications in the building industry.

With incredibly high vapour resistance, this vapour barrier can accommodate extreme internal conditions, including bathrooms, kitchens, wet industrial processes, breweries, sports halls, swimming pools and much more. Its exceptionally high tear resistance ensures it can withstand foot trafficking without puncturing, which is advantageous for use on profiled metal decking.

Question:

Is this product suitable and/or nesasery? I have insulated the timber framed gable wall with 100mm foil lined celotex insulation. Expanding foam sealed and foil taped. Do I need to put a vapor control barrier up before plasterboard? I foolishly bought non foil backed plasterboard thinking the sealed foil on the tape and insulation would be enough?
