Find out moreThe 200mm x 200mm AF2 External Angle Aluminium Felt Trim can be used with built-up felt roofing and mastic asphalt to create a strong and neat finish. The secure fixing of the Nutrim means the risks of voids, water penetration and capillary action are removed.
To fix Nutrim, cadmium or galvanised nails or screws should be used, with no more than a 300mm (12'') centre with the ends firmly secured. Eight fixings per length minimum are recommended, and a gap of 3mm is to be left between lengths to allow for expansion. Suitable for application in built-up felt roofing projects, it's vital to dress the layer of felt over the kerb and the trim fixed into position. You should then lay the top layer of felt similar to before, and the leading edge turned into the hood, which stops the outside top layer's edge from lifting.
For use with mastic asphalt roofing, you can fix the trim before laying the asphalt. On the timber kerbs, the sheathing felt and expanded metal lathing must be set to the inside edge of the fixing arm. For concrete roofs, you should stop the sheathing at the base of the kerb. The mastic asphalt skirting should be then laid with the top edge turned into the protective hood of the aluminium trim.
