Find out moreFabricated from Aluminium, this Nutrim Felt Trim provides a professional finish for built-up felt roofing and mastic asphalt roofing. Suitable for external angles, this roof trim requires a minimum of eight fixings using cadmium or galvanised screws or nails at no more than 300mm (12") centres with securely fitted ends of each length.
When fitting the roof trim, enable a 3mm gap between each length to allow for expansion and priming of the fixing leg is recommended. When installing mastic asphalt roofing, this Nutrim can be fixed into place before laying the asphalt. With concrete roofs, the sheathing felt is ceased at the base of the kerb, while on timber kerbs, the expanded metal lathing and sheathing felt must be secured to the internal edge of the fixing arm. After this, the mastic asphalt skirtings are positioned with the upper edge turned into the protective hood of the aluminium trim.
When utilized with built-up felt roofing, you must dress the initial sheet over the kerb with the roof trim fitted into place. The final layer of felt is similarly laid over the trim with the upper edge turned into the hood, eliminating the outer edge of the top layer of felt lifting.
