Find out moreThis Aluminium Nutrim Felt Roof Trim is ideal for both mastic asphalt roofing and built-up felt roofing and is recommended to be fixed with galvanised or cadmium screws or nails at a maximum of 300mm (12") centres with the ends of each length tightly secured with a minimum of eight fixings per length.
With a 3mm gap between each length allowing for expansion, this roof trim's fixing leg is advised to be primed for a complete method of fixing. Where this aluminium Nutrim is used with mastic asphalt roofing, the roof trim can be fitted in position before the placing of the asphalt. While on timber kerbs, the expanded metal lathing and sheathing felt must be fixed to the inner edge of the fixing arm. With concrete roofs, the sheathing felt ends at the bottom of the kerb. The mastic asphalt skirtings are then placed with the upper edge turned into the protective hood of the roof trim.
When using built-up felt roofing, the initial layer of felt should be dressed over the kerb, and then the aluminium trimming can be fitted into position. With the final felt positioned in the same way as over the trimming, the upper edge is turned into the protective hood of the Nutrim.
